Beverly Cousens

Obituary Beverly Miller Cousens, 86, of Morehead City, died Friday, October 5, 2018 at Carteret Health Care. Services will be held at a later date at First United Methodist Church in Morehead City, NC. Mrs. Cousens was born January 31, 1932 in Harrisburg, PA to her parents Ralph Welsh and Aldah McMorris Miller. She received her Bachelors degree in Education from West Chester State Teachers College in 1953. She married John Allen Cousens and they had two sons, Robert Welsh and John Foster. She and her husband raised their boys in South Burlington, VT where they enjoyed family time, and spent summers camping. Mrs. Cousens worked at Sears where she was head of the teletype department. Upon retirement, she and her husband moved to Morehead City, NC in 1992. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church. She delivered meals on wheels, volunteered in the church office, and served Christmas Cheer for several years. She is survived by her son, Robert "Bob" Cousens of Morehead City; a brother, Ralph Welsh Miller Jr., of Lititz, PA; and five granddaughters; Ashley, Aubrey, Heather, Jennifer and Amanda. By her parents, her husband John, son, John Foster, and granddaughter Laura Jean. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 10:00am at the First United Methodist Church in Morehead City. In lieu of flowers memorials, may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 900 Arendell Street, MHC, 28557 or a charity of ones choice.
