Curtis Gillikin, Jr

Obituary Curtis Gillikin, Jr., 88, of Otway, died May 11, 2017 at home. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Brooks Funeral Home. Mr. Gillikin was born in Straits to Curtis Gillikin, Sr., and Allie Day Gillikin. He worked as the captain of a dredge boat for most of his life. He is survived by two daughters, Eva Marie Lawrence of Adams Creek, and Mary Ann Garner of Otway; a grandson, Kevin Gillikin of Havelock, who he loved as a son; two sisters, Hilda Gillikin of Williamsburg, VA and Esther Gillikin of Newport; three other grandchildren, Dustin Deaver of Otway, Amber Lawrence of Havelock and Richard Lawrence, Jr. of Adams Creek; two great-grandchildren, Maci and Waylon Deaver of Newport.
