Obituary Florence Norcom Anderson, 94, of Morehead City, formerly of New Bern, died Monday, June 27, 2016, at Carteret Health Care. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at St. Pauls Episcopal Church, Beaufort, with the priest, the Rev. John Carlisto officiating. The committal will follow in the Norcom family plot at St. Pauls Cemetery. Mrs. Anderson was born October 2, 1921 in Beaufort to George Dill Norcom and Bessie Brooks Norcom. She is survived by her sons, Mark H. Anderson and wife, Kathy of Pine Knoll Shores; Joel Anderson, III of Mt. Pleasant, SC; two grandchildren: Mark Hunter Anderson, Jr. and Sara Ashley Anderson; three sisters, Bessie Joyce Tolson of Morehead City, Jean Bigelow of Erie, PA and Ann N. Smith and husband, Ralph, of Salter Path. In addition to her parents, her husband, Joel Anderson, Jr. and sisters, Evelyn Pfeifer and Mary Ellen Smith preceded her in death. The family will receive friends following the service in the church parish hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Pauls Episcopal Church, 215 Ann Street, Beaufort, NC 28516.
