Obituary Lucy Rice Willis, 89, of Morehead City, died Friday, July 15, 2016, at the Crystal Coast Hospice House. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2016, at Brooks Funeral Home with Chaplain Jack Mumford presiding. Ms. Willis was born in Beaufort on September 10, 1926 to Carl and Minnie Rice. She married Charles D. Willis, also of Beaufort, and in 1959 their young family moved to Naples, Florida. In 1977 she became a registered nurse and worked at Naples Community Hospital until she retired at the age of 70. Ms. Willis and her son Chuck returned to Carteret County in 2003. She is survived by her daughter, Christy L. Willis of Morehead City; and three sons, Jeffrey C. Willis and Charles C. (Chuck) Willis of Morehead City, and James E. Willis of Naples, FL; one sister, Betty Ketterer of Newport; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A grandson, Charles Brodie Willis, preceded her in death.
