Obituary Martha Ricker Lewis, 90, widow of the late Chelsie Dawes Lewis, entered into rest with the Lord on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Augusta Gardens in Augusta, Georgia. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 25, 2016, at Victoria Cemetery, Marshallberg, with Rev. Rick Rose officiating. Mrs. Lewis was born on October 5, 1925, in Blythe, Georgia to Paul H. and Mada Griffin Ricker. She worked for the Department of Defense at Fort Gordon, Georgia, for twenty years. She married Chelsie Dawes Lewis in August, 1970. They retired in Marshallberg, NC and spent many happy years together. She was an active member of Marshallberg Baptist Church. She was an early member of the Carteret County Historical Society and volunteered at the historical church on the Carteret Community College campus. For many years she served as a volunteer for the elderly at Taylor Extended Care, Sea Level. She loved art and painted many beautiful pictures. She is survived by her sons, Thomas Theodore Cook, and his wife, Joy, of Martinez, GA, and Paul Stephen Cook, and his wife, Kathy, of Morehead City; 5 grandchildren, Shannon, Elizabeth, Travis, Alison and Madison and 6 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, her first husband, Thomas Theodore Cook preceded her in death.
