Obituary Rhoda Glover Cooper (May 4, 1917- October 9, 2016) Rhoda Glover Cooper, 99, died peacefully October 9, 2016 at her childhood home. A native of Morehead City, North Carolina, Mrs. Cooper married Alfred Braswell Cooper, Sr. on October 3, 1937. Mr. and Mrs. Cooper met when Mrs. Cooper was selling tickets at a beach pavilion and Mr. Cooper was supposed to be babysitting his nephew. She also worked as a nursing assistant at the original Morehead Hospital on Shepard Street. Mrs. Cooper was a generous and loving wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and hostess known for her Christmas cookie tree and pimento cheese sandwiches; camellias, garlic, ivy and pecan trees; as well as trips to Richmond and Cuba. Mrs. Cooper is survived by two daughters, Fanella Cooper Willis of Atlantic Beach and Annette Cooper Lynch of Atlantic Beach and Newburgh, Maine; one son, A.B. "Buddy" Cooper of Atlantic Beach; seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 14, between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm at Brooks Funeral Home in Morehead City.
