Obituary William Henry Jones III, 87, died Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Carteret Health Care in Morehead City. His service was held at 10:00am on Monday, at Brooks Funeral Home & Crematory in Morehead City. The family received friends following the service, concluding with a private family burial at Gethsemane Memorial Park. Bill was born August 7, 1931 in Pamlico County, to Verdie Mae Salter and William Henry Jones, Jr. Bill resided in Pine Knoll Shores and Sarasota, FL where he spent many hours working in both of his yards. Having completed his education in New Bern, NC, Bill began his college career at Duke University before completing his undergraduate degree in Business at Vanderbilt University. He obtained his Masters Degree from the Wharton School of Business. He began his work career as a Stock Broker in Palm Beach, Florida before moving to Carteret County to take over the helm of a majority family owned business at Carteret Quick Freezing Company. He began Beaufort Ice Company, and ran it until its sale in 2015. Bill continued to enjoy the stock market even into his retirement, watching its ups and downs daily. Bill was a lover of all animals and pets, but particularly dogs, having owned over twenty throughout his life. Bill is survived by his Son, Donald Robert Jones and wife Karan of Morehead City; Daughter Cynthia Jones Mario and husband Carter of Milford, Conn.; and Son Timothy Cecil Jones of Beaufort. Other survivors include his Grandchildren, Donald Robert Jones, Jr. and wife Jessica, Christopher William Jones, Christine Jones Tanner and husband Townsend, Alexandra Marie Kreuk and husband Florian, Luke Carter Mario, and Jake Jones Mario; Sister, Joy Jones Faller and Husband James; Great-Granddaughter, Isabella Carroll Jones; and his beloved dog, Trixie. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Hickman Jones, and parents, William Henry Jones, Jr. and Verdie Salter Jones.
