Alice Kay Pittman

Alice Kay Guthrie Pittman, 84, of Morehead City passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Carteret Health Care of Morehead City.

Kay was born on August 2, 1939, the second of three daughters born to Rufus and Alice Clyde Guthrie of Morehead City. She was born and raised in the special place called The Promise Land. After graduating high school, she met and married the love of her life James Pittman a young man from Oriental, NC stationed here in the Coast Guard. Together they traveled to many stations where Kay with her many talents such as sewing, cooking, and gardening made warm and lovely homes for her family. Upon retirement they came home to Morehead City. They were blessed with two sons Jimmy and Keith Pittman.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Noe-Brooks Funeral Home of Morehead City with Pastor Donald Thomas officiating. A burial will follow at Bayview Cemetery in Morehead City. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Kay is survived by her son, Jimmy Pittman and a very special friend whom she loved as her son, Craig Lewis; sisters, Judy Conner and family; Cassie Steed (Dean); special nieces, Deana Frost and family; Ashley Pittman and family and many other special friends, nieces and nephews.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Pittman and a son, Keith Pittman.
