Barbara Joyce Vick

Barbara Willis Vick, 90, of Morehead City, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, May 26, 2024, following a short illness.

A native daughter of Carteret County and the Morehead City area, Barbara was a loving, devoted wife of 70 years to her beloved husband Buddy. She was a devoted mother and homemaker, which was her calling, life’s work and labor of love. The best interest of her family was always at heart.

Family and friends are welcome to attend the graveside service at 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Gethsemane Memorial Park in Newport.

She was survived by her sons, Philip and David Vick; a daughter, Carole Vick Stephens; seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, and her sister, Sandra Hodges of Wake Forest.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bruce Willis (son of R.T. Willis), her mother, Eleanor Willis, and her husband, Alton “Buddy” Vick, Jr.
