Obituary Brenda Ipock, 78, of Swansboro, NC formerly of Kinston, NC died at her home on Thursday, August 5, 2021 following a few years of declining health. She was preceded in death by her husband John Alston Ipock, Sr., parents, Etta and Benson Justice, her sister, Daphne Mills Rivers, and her brother-in-law, Mike Kohler. She is survived by her sons John "Jay" Ipock, Jr., and Tommy Brown and his wife Carie; grandchildren, Hayleigh and Logan Ipock, Trevor, Ally, Leighton, Noah, Brett, and Evie Brown. She started her accounting career in 1960 at Harvey Motor Company/Star Beaton Chevrolet in Kinston, NC. She worked at H&N Motors Chevrolet for a number of years. She retired from WAGES of Goldsboro in 2019. She and her husband, John, managed Sportlanes Bowling Center for 17 years before owning and running Sportlands Trophy Case in downtown Kinston for a number of years. Brenda was one of the founding members of the Lenoir County SPCA, and she volunteered with Meals on Wheels of Kinston for over 30 years. She also served as Treasurer for several years at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Kinston where she was an active member for years.
