With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Cindy Jo (Weber) Chadwick, a truly dedicated and loving soul who left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Born on January 14, 1961, Cindy developed a love for horses at a very early age and cherished the farm-life experiences shared with her grandparents in Ohio—some of her fondest memories. (In loving memory of O. Glen “Papal” Williamson & A. Lucille “Mamal” Williamson.) Her strong and independent mother (in loving memory of Teresa Ilene Weber) bravely moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina, with three young children. It was there that Cindy entered the next chapter, one that would lead her to meet the love of her life, Billy Beard Chadwick, who passed away in 2013. What a reunion that will be! For nearly 50 years, Cindy was much more than an in-law in his large family. She was loved and respected by sisters, brothers, cousins, aunts, uncles and many more.
Finding joy in making others happy, Cindy was incredibly thoughtful. Whether she was dressing up for holidays, sharing a special gift or meal, or simply remembering something meaningful about you, her kindness showed up in countless, heartfelt ways.
Cindy had a vibrant social life where she shined. She was a “stander” as she liked to call it, never one to sit, but rather sway to every song that came on,her warm smile welcoming and brought joy to everyone around her.
Supporting many individuals and businesses throughout Fayetteville and surrounding areas, Cindy dedicated over 25 years of service to Williford Houston & Co. CPAs. Clients were more than customers; they were family. She was widely known and loved for her remarkable ability to know the details about everything—a gift that reflected her care, precision, and genuine investment in others.
Cindy is survived by her son, Eric Lyle Chadwick (Kara) of New Bern, NC, and daughter, Audra Chadwick Kurzendoerfer (Stephen), of Newport, NC. She was a most beloved ‘CC’ to Kenan Elizabeth and Tucker Lyle Chadwick, and a very special ‘Aunt Cindy’ to many nieces and nephews of all ages. Cindy will forever be remembered for her selfless, honest spirit, by loving family members and countless friends. She gave her whole heart to everyone she knew, earning a lifetime of admiration and lasting friendships—far too many to name.
She was, and always will be, an angel.
The family could not have made it through this time without the prayers, love, and support of family, friends, and neighbors. We are especially grateful to Audra, her devoted daughter, and Stephen, one of the most caring and compassionate sons-in-law anyone could hope for, for the exceptional care, love, and attention they gave Cindy. Their presence and dedication mean more than words can express.
