Cynthia “Cindy” Triplett Seifer, 78, of Atlantic Beach, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Carteret Health Care of Morehead City.
Cindy was born in Wilkes County, NC on February 20, 1948. Her father was in the U.S. Army and the family lived in several cities over the years, including North Wilkesboro (NC), Elizabethton (KY) and Hope Mills (NC), where she graduated from Hope Mills High School in 1966.
In the early 1970’s, Cindy moved to Cary (NC) where she lived for most of the next 30 years. During these years, she worked for the VA Medical Center in Durham as well as Research Triangle Institute in RTP, where she retired in 2012.
Upon retirement, Cindy moved full-time to Atlantic Beach. She always loved the salt air and simply being on the beach. For years, she walked the beach collecting seashells, which were then placed all around her home. When she moved to Atlantic Beach, she was finally home.
Cindy was preceded in death by her mother and father, Rachel and Earl Triplett of Glade Valley (NC) and her sister, Jane Triplett, of Supply (NC).
Cindy is survived by her loving son, Jeff Dix, and his wife, Jessica of Simpsonville, SC. In addition, she is survived by four grandchildren (Cole of Tucson, AZ, Reid of Denver, NC, Brooks of Columbia, SC and Hayes of Clemson, SC) two devoted nieces and their husbands, Marlo Broyles (James) of Wilmington and Farrah Mann (Shannon) of Supply, and her brother-in-law, Mike Bullock of Supply.
Anyone that knew Cindy often heard her say “I only birthed one son, but I have nine sons”. She meant this. She truly loved Rob Hartshorn, Kevin Reinert, Steve Rager, Donald Aiken, Dean Rogers, Buddy Tripp, Gene McMurray and Joe Guard. She was proud of each of their families and their life accomplishments.
“Reg” Pendergraph was a very close friend to Cindy. Over the years, they became very close and he was always there to help with things around the house, to drive to appointments…. really anything that she needed help with. Her family is forever grateful to him.
At Cindy’s request, a private remembrance will take place later this summer.
