Diane Watters-Rice

Diane Watters-Rice, 72, of Newport, left this world to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at 3:30 a.m. on Monday, June 1, 2026. She passed from this life peacefully at home in her own bed attended by her devoted, loving husband Robin Rice, and her little dog who she adored, “The Biscuit.”

Diane was loved by all who knew her and spent the majority of her life here in NC serving others. She was a waitress at Floyd’s 1921 for almost 18 years. She was a partner at One Harbor Church and served there in many different ministry capacities. Her passion was helping others on their journey to recovery from substance abuse. Being in recovery herself she felt the need to pay forward the gift of freedom from addiction that was given her and she did this by her participation in programs here in Carteret County including holding monthly recovery meetings in the county jail. She was always ready to help others find that there really is life outside of addiction. She was always patient, kind, loving, and supportive. Diane touched everyone she came into contact with and she will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Robin Rice; sons, Jason and Joshua Watters; grandchildren, Regin Watters and Dominic Lipscomb; and her sister, Carol Ann Kiel.

A celebration of life for Diane will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2026, beginning at 1:30 pm at 405 Cahoogue Creek Rd. Havelock, NC hosted by 4 Told Horsemen MC. ALL ARE WELCOME.
