Elaine Marie Gresham

It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Elaine Marie Gresham, who left us on May 10, 2025, at the age of 62. A devoted daughter, sister, friend, and colleague, she lived a life marked by compassion, creativity, and an unwavering commitment to caring for others.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Noe-Brooks Funeral Home Chapel. There will be a visitation from 12:30-1:45 p.m.

Elaine was a graduate of George Washington High School in Charleston WV; she was the manager at Coral Bay Marina in Morehead City; and a faithful member of Straits Methodist Church.

Always ready to lend a hand or a pint of blood, she never hesitated to step in where she could make a difference. She simply wanted to take care of people. Her kindness extended beyond service—she had a gift for making a house feel like home. A passionate gardener, she found great joy in tending her roses and flowers, and fittingly, her first rose of the season bloomed just this past Thursday. She also had a remarkable talent for arts and crafts, especially needlework, which she pursued with care and creativity. Her home and gifts bore the mark of her skill and love.

Elaine, being the compassionate person she was, loved animals, especially dogs and cats.

In the kitchen, she was nothing short of exceptional. From hearty meals to decadent desserts, her cooking—especially her baking—was a source of comfort and celebration for everyone lucky enough to sit at her table.

Above all, she was loyal and loving—to her family, her friends, her church, and her coworkers. Her warmth, dedication, and generous spirit touched everyone she met.

Elaine is survived by her life companion, Jodie Faircloth of Gloucester; her two brothers, Bruce Gresham (Karen), and Andy Gresham (Caryn), both of Charleston, WV; her sister, Cathy Gresham of Ottawa, IL; five nieces and nephews: Mandy Giles, Laura Vencill, Kyle Gresham, Robert Gresham, Stephen Gresham; and nine great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard R. Gresham and Emily Sue Hannon Gresham.

She will be missed dearly, remembered always, and cherished forever.
