Elizabeth Kristie Gaither, a loving grandmother, mother, and wife, died March 23, 2024.
Kristie is survived by her husband Kel, whom she adored, her son Timmy and daughter-in-law Felicia, her daughter Chelsea and son-in-law Patrick, her son Taylor and daughter-in-law Savannah, her daughter Erin, her grandchildren Aleah, Blake, Dante, Emily, Eli, and Laiken, her brother Obie and sister-in-law Jamie, her niece Lateisha and husband Robert, her nieces Dei and Trista, her great nieces Lynn and Ariana, her great nephews Jaydon and Lucas, her in-laws Cindy and Elvin, whom she loved like her own parents, and by her fur babies Daisy, Boo-Boo, Ray-Ray, and Callie.
Kristie loved many and was loved by many. Kristie dedicated much of her life to the Clamdigger Hotel and Restaurant in PKS. She formed many lasting relationships over the years with guests of the hotel, and she considered them her extended family.
On June 24, 2023 she married the love of her life, Kel, while surrounded by friends overlooking Fort Macon National State Park where the couple had their first date. Kel and Kristie were undoubtedly soul mates. They shared a love for animals, the coast, cooking, and most importantly, their children and grandchildren. Many of us live a lifetime searching for unconditional love, and Kristie was fortunate enough to find it in Kel. Kristie's greatest accomplishment and legacy in this life are her children and grandchildren. She loved them fiercely and looked forward to her time with them.
Kristie is preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Lawrence, her father, Tim Lawrence, her sister, Lynn Lawrence Carpio, and her fur babies, Kitty and Gizmo.
