Gerald "Jerry" Nunnery

Gerald “Jerry” Nunnery, 74, of Otway, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at ECU Health Center in Greenville.

Jerry proudly served his country as a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, demonstrating dedication and honor throughout his service. He had a deep passion for working with anything mechanical, particularly motorcycles, and spent countless hours tinkering with motors of all kinds. Jerry also found great joy in fishing, cherishing the peace and connection to nature it provided.

The family will celebrate his life privately.

He is survived by his half-brother, Bobby Dean Poole of Lexington, NC; half-sister, Vickie Shupe of Lexington, NC; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Nunnery and mother, Edith Lewis; and his step mother, Sue Nunnery.
