Joan Farmer Ellis, 87, of Morehead City, passed away on June 22, 2026, at Carteret Health Care in Morehead City.

At her request, there will be no services held.

A woman of great kindness and positivity, Joan had a remarkable ability to see the best in everyone she met. Her caring nature left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She lived her life by the rhythm of the waves and the warmth of the sun.

Joan’s memory will forever be a source of comfort to those who loved her. May her legacy of love and optimism continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Lynn Mortali and husband Michael of Atlantic Beach; her son, David Glenn Stoup and wife Amy, of Owens Cross Roads, Alabama; and her three cherished grandchildren, Jake Stoup, Jessica Stoup, and Alexander Lepard. Her family was the center of her world, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
