Gone but Never Forgotten
John Simmons, 67, of Newport, born June 5, 1957, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024 at his home.
John was a veteran and served in the USMC and retired from the civil service aboard Cherry Point.
The family will celebrate his life privately.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Diane Simmons of Newport; four sons, Daniel Simmons and wife, Sarah of Morehead City; Michael Simmons of Monroe; David Simmons and wife, Shannon of Newport; Nathan Simmons of Newport; 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild; his mother, Gail Portor of Newport; three sisters and two brothers.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harley Simmons.
