Mitchell Moore

Mitchell Moore, 80, of Havelock, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025 at home.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Newport, NC.

Mitchell was a graduate of Newport High School. He served proudly in the United States Army. He worked with the North Carolina Department of Corrections for thirty years. He also was employed at Bob Hill Enterprises for forty years. Mitchell was an avid fisherman and enjoyed doing yard work.

He is survived by his wife, Carla Moore; daughter, Khloe Robinette; grandson, Garrett Piner (Emily); granddaughter, Jade McKenzie; stepsons, Michael Wayne Hurdle Jr. (Amanda) and Matthew Hurdle (Chelsea); grandsons, Tristen Hurdle and Sampson Hurdle; a great grandson, Lucas Piner; he is also survived by, Betty Pederson, David “Joe” Moore (Sandra), Donna Dipietrantonio (Joe), and Sandy Buckley “Now The Purdy One” (Bill).

Mitchell was preceded in death by his daughters, Teresa Lynn Moore and Christy Michelle Piner; sisters, Clara D. Turnage and Alma G. Smith; and his parents, Frank J. and Nannie Mae Masters Moore. Condolences and life tributes may be sent to the family at www.noebrooks.net
