Oscar Wagoner Sr.

Oscar Wayne Wagoner Sr., 61, of Newport, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loved ones.

Oscar made his living working in construction. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Always ending every day on the front porch spending time with family and friends. He made a difference in so many young lives, he was a mentor to many with such a big heart.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at the Broad Creek Church of God with Pastor Robbie Strickland officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, November 15, 2024 at the church.

Oscar is survived by his daughter, Tabitha Taylor and husband, Kenneth of Newport; son Oscar Wayne Wagoner Jr. and partner, Crystal Glass of Newport; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; brother, Randy Wagoner and wife, Janet of North Wilkesboro; three sisters, Mary Royal and husband, Johnny of North Wilkesboro; Bonnie Brown and husband, Dickie of North Wilkesboro; Geneva Wagoner and husband, Timmy of North Wilkesboro.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Garfield and Edna Wagoner; wife, Debra Wagoner; son, Willie Wayne Wagoner.
