Rachel McQueen

Rachel McQueen, 86, of Morehead City, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025, at home.

Rachel was a graduate of Morehead City High School. She decorated cakes for Rex Bakery for over ten years and retired from Carteret County Social Services.

Rachel is survived by her three daughters, Dawn McBroom of Morehead City, Patience Kuhn (Charles) of Princeton, and Patty Vass (Eddie) of Ronceverte, WV; six grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon McQueen Jr., who died in 2024; her son, Gordon “CJ” McQueen III, who died in 2022; and her granddaughter, Rachel Gail McBroom, who died in 2020.
