Rachel McQueen

Rachel McQueen, 86, of Morehead City, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025, at home.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Noe-Brooks Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Elder Larry Booth officiating. There will be a visitation from 1-2 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Gethsemane Memorial Park.

As a long-standing member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Morehead City, Rachel was baptized at the young age of 12, in 1951. Rachel loved reading her Bible. She found great joy and purpose in her faith which guided her through life and gave her a sense of fellowship.

Rachel was a graduate of Morehead City High School. She decorated cakes for Rex Bakery for over ten years and retired from Carteret County Social Services.

Rachel is survived by her three daughters, Dawn McBroom of Morehead City, Patience Kuhn (Charles) of Princeton, and Patty Vass (Eddie) of Ronceverte, WV; six grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon "Casey" McQueen Jr., who died in 2024; her son, Gordon “CJ” McQueen III, who died in 2022; and her granddaughter, Rachel Gail McBroom, who died in 2020.
