Morehead City

Reba Hall Stamp of Morehead City, NC, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2026, at the age of 89. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and will be remembered lovingly by those who knew her.

Born on February 19, 1937 in Duplin County, NC, Reba was a woman of deep faith and dedication. She was heavily involved in her church communities throughout her life. She faithfully served as Secretary of First Presbyterian Church in Morehead City, NC, and Westminster Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville, NC, where she was respected for her hard work, commitment and kind spirit. In addition, she was a dedicated church member where she served selflessly with love, compassion and energy. She received Honorary Life Memberships from the Presbyterian Women of First Presbyterian and Westminster Presbyterian Churches.

Reba married Jim Stamp on September 1, 1954 and over the years, they made their home in several communities throughout North Carolina while raising their three children. Reba found joy in caring for those around her and ensuring they always had something good to eat. She loved cooking and baking for family and friends and was famous for her fried chicken and poundcake recipes. She spent countless hours knitting beautiful blankets as gifts to her family and those in her church community. In their younger years, she and her husband traveled all across the country where she served as the family’s navigator and photographer. She was also an enthusiastic sports fan who could often be found cheering on the NC State Wolfpack. More than anything, Reba cherished time spent with her family. Her legacy lives on in the family she loved so dearly and in the many lives she touched through her faith, generosity, and enduring kindness.

Reba is preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Ruby Hall, sister, Patsy Page, and son-in-law, Jeff Church. She is survived by her devoted husband of 71 years, Jim Stamp; her children Terry Stamp (Wanda), Shirley Church, and Jamie Stamp (Gwen); her cherished grandchildren Lauren Fleeman (Chris), Julia Gresham (Jim), and Foster Stamp; and her treasured great-grandchildren Katelyn, Joseph, and George.
