Roberta Lynn Geren

Roberta Lynn Geren, 76, formerly of Troy, NC passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at SECU Crystal Coast Hospice House in Newport NC.

She was born October 31,1948, in Flint Michigan to the late Robert Lloyd Geren and Hermina Bodemuller Pion. She retired from the restaurant industry where she spent a significant portion of her career in New Orleans managing two restaurants on Bourbon Street. She was a loving mother and sister and was totally dedicated to caring for her brother, Charlie. Roberta was an avid reader and loved to spend time with family and friends. She liked to travel to the mountains and the beach.

She is survived by her brother, Charles "Charlie" Geren; her son, Martin Allen Hamilton of Asheville, her son, Daniel "Danny" Wayne Hamilton and his wife Jane of Graham, her daughter, Jennifer Hamilton Deadmon and her husband Tim of Swansboro; two lifelong best friends Linda “Sue” Smith and Miranda Strider Allen; her dog Bundy; three grand-dogs Darcy and Ruby Deadmon, and Denali Hamilton.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Lloyd Geren; mother, Hermina Bodemuller Pion; stepdad, Maurice “Frenchie” Pion ; and her longtime companion, Paul Terheyden.
