Roy Lee Renegar

Roy Lee Renegar, 62, of Morehead City, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Carolina East Medical Center in New Bern, NC.

Roy grew up working with his family's roofing company for many years. In 1987 he met and married his lifelong partner, Elizabeth (Liz). They met at a flea market in Winston Salem and worked together at various jobs. Roy and Liz enjoyed many hours on the highway together while he was a truck driver. Roy retired to Carteret County to enjoy his lifelong love of the outdoors. Roy loved hunting, fishing and boating. He also loved a good festival and his custom Chevy truck. He will be missed by all that knew him,

Roy is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Renegar of the home; his father, Radford Renegar of Winston Salem; mother, Diane Sechrist of Newport; brothers, Johnny Sechrist and Eddie Renegar; and his sisters, Starla Smith and Lisa Renegar. He is preceded in death by his sons, Jason and Jeffery Nelson.

A graveside service will be held at Amariah Garner Cemetery on Nine Foot Road in Newport.

The date and time of the service will be announced at a later date.
