Scott Kniffen

On Friday July 18, 2025, Scott Hall Kniffen passed away peacefully at home after a long battle with cancer.

He is survived by his brother Craig, loving wife Lisa and his step-daughter Alyssa.

Scott served as an Infantryman from 1985 to 1989 stationed in Germany. After an honorable discharge from service he moved to Arizona where he worked for the Arizona Department of Corrections. From there he moved to Las Vegas where he served the public as a Las Vegas Police Department officer and Detective until his retirement. After retirement Scott put his focus into living life slowly and peacefully, tending to his yard, renovating his home and traveling the world. Scott and Lisa found New Bern a quiet reprieve where they could be with each other and enjoy their time. Scott and Lisa's relationship spanned over 27 years and while it never seems long enough they lived it fully.
