Sondra "Sandy" Gillikin

Sondra Lee Gillikin, 79, of Morehead City, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Carteret Health Care.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Noe-Brooks Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service. 

Sondra, lovingly referred to as Sandy, was born on August 9, 1946, to William Burdette Asher Jr. and Anna Marie Langley in Anne Arundel County, Maryland.

She will be missed for her upbeat attitude and zest for life. No matter what she went through, even through battling breast cancer, she stayed positive. She had a fun personality which showed through her love of Yahtzee and card games, participation in a bowling league, and her crafty nature she expressed through knitting.

Sandy worked at various trades in Carteret County. Many will remember her from working at Cato’s in Beaufort helping ladies pick outfits and accessories they would love. She also was known as the “icee lady” and drove a snow cone truck for years that brought joy to the community, especially the children. Her last job was working at the Inlet Inn in Beaufort where she worked for over sixteen years before retiring.

Sondra is survived by her son, William Willis (Kathryn) of Newport; her daughter, Tina Eubanks (Ivey III) of Marshallberg; step son, Jason Gillikin (Sabrina) of Arkansas; three sisters, Gayle Asher of Morehead City, Susan McCauley of Knoxville, TN, and Toni Gilchrist (Gary) of Annapolis, MD; two grandchildren, Sean Willis and Mackenzie Eubanks; one great-grandchild, Lisa Willis; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Gillikin Jr; her parents; and her brothers, Terry Asher and William Asher Jr.
