Terrie passed away on April 28th at Crystal Bluffs Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, May 5, 2025 at St. Egbert Catholic Church in Morehead City with Rev. Thomas Davis officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Lebanon Cemetery in Plains, GA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Sunday at Noe-Brooks Funeral Home in Morehead City.
Terrie was born June 10, 1948 to Rose and Henry Ratliff in Plains, GA. She graduated from Plains High School, which her parents and siblings also attended. She earned her degree as a Clinical Laboratory Assistant in 1967, and went to work at Glynn-Brunswick Memorial Hospital in Brunswick, GA. There she met her husband, Mike, who was working at GA Game and Fish in Brunswick. They married April 12, 1970 and moved to Morehead City, NC.
She was a dedicated wife, mother, and community volunteer. Terrie was a founding member of Crystal Coast Habitat for Humanity, and especially enjoyed working at the Habitat ReStore. She loved her church family at St. Egbert Catholic Church and could often be found in the kitchen. Terrie and Mike started the local Parents for the Advancement of Gifted Education (PAGE) group, which staged several years of PAGE Saturdays for the enrichment of local schoolchildren. She enjoyed being Props Mistress for many Carteret Community Theatre productions. She also loved volunteering at the CHC Cancer Center. She was honored with the League of Women Voters Volunteer of the Year award in 2001.
Terrie was preceded in death by her beloved husband Mike, both parents, and her sister Janet Culpepper of Kannapolis, NC. Terrie is survived by their daughter Melanie, husband Doug, and grandson Bobby of Peachtree City, GA and their son Steven of Morehead City, NC. She was the oldest of the six Ratliff children: David (Ellen) of Plains, GA; Patsy (Robert) of Albany, GA; Ruth (Steve) of Longmont, CO; and Alan of Andersonville, GA. She leaves many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews to remember the many Belated Birthday cards with cash!
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Egbert Catholic Church, Carteret Community Theatre, Crystal Coast Habitat for Humanity, Carteret Health Care Cancer Center in Morehead City, NC, or the charity of one’s choice.
