Twyla Matthews (Gillikin), 78, of Morehead City, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Carteret Health Care in Morehead City.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at the Gillikin Family Cemetery in Otway.
Twyla and her husband owned and operated, Matthew’s Shoe Repair of Morehead City.
She is survived by her two sons, Robert J. Matthews and wife, Ashley of Mt. Airy, NC; Jeffrey L. Matthews and wife, Kristina of Morehead City; two sisters, Alma Guthrie of Harkers Island; Sue Brown of Otway.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roosevelt and Ruth Gillikin; and her husband, Jackie Matthews.
