Obituary William 'Bookie' Henry Gibbs Sr., 73, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2023, at the Crystal Coast Hospice House in Newport, NC. A memorial service will be held at Noe-Brooks Funeral Home on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. William is survived by one son, William Gibbs Jr. of VA; one daughter, Faylisia Hansford of MS; seven great grandchildren; two grandchildren; one sister, Carrie Boomer of NY; special niece and nephews, Peaches Peterson of Morehead City, NC, Edward Earl Montague of Roxboro, NC, and Bert Dunn of VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. William is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Stewart Gibbs, and Alice Marie Collins; and four sisters, Almitta Gibbs, Richella Murrell, Dorothy Silimon, and Rosetta Morgan; and two brothers, Otis Gibbs, and Edward Gibbs Jr. Condolences and life tributes may be sent to the family at www.noebrooks.net.
