William 'Buddy' Earl Hill Sr.

Obituary William "Buddy" Earl Hill Sr, 87, of Morehead City, peacefully transitioned from his Earthly home to his Heavenly home on Gods celestial shore, to a land where joy shall reverend on Saturday, November 26, 2022, surrounded by loved ones at Carteret Health Care. William was born on November 10, 1935, to the late Fred Pritchett and Alvenia Hill in Morehead City, NC. William received his education from Queen Street High School, Beaufort, NC and W.S. King High School, Morehead City, NC. He later completed his GED at Carteret Community College. William gave his life to Christ at an early age. He joined St. Stephens AME Zion Church in Morehead City, where he was a pillar in the church. As a member, he served on multiple committees and held different offices. William always displayed his faith in God and never waivered from acknowledging Gods goodness. As a young man, William worked in many aspects of the grocery industry. At the age of 17, he worked at the Cherry Market delivering groceries. He was also the Produce Manager for Pak-A-Sak Food Stores. In 1987, he retired from the Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, Inc. (The A&P). Shortly after retirement he worked as a part-time Breakfast Attendant at the Days Inn of Atlantic Beach. William was married to Eliza Dudley Hill and from their union, seven children were born. William was survived by his four daughters, Alice Hill of Newport; Valeria Everett and husband Henry of Beaufort; Theresa Johnson and husband Donald of Newport; Leshia Hill Tripp of Morehead City; son, William Hill Jr. of Hubert; very special friend of 20 plus years, Ethel Hill; thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren; special nephew, George Henderson. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Wilhelmina Louise and son, Robert Earl Hill; his parents, Fred Pritchett and Alvania Hill; brothers Edward Henderson and Winfield Henderson; four sisters, Elizabeth Jones, Bernice Dunn, Rena Hill, and Mary Flutch. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, December 05, 2022, at St. Stephens AME Zion Church of Morehead City with the Rev. Dr. William T Snow officiating. The family will receive friends one-hour prior. There will be a repast held for IMMEDIATE FAMILY ONLY after the service. Family will receive visitors at the home of Ms. Theresa Johnson from 3pm to 7pm nightly. Located at 105 Bur Oaks Blvd. Newport, NC.
