John Volosin "J-Dawg"

John A. Volosin "J-Dawg" of Morehead City passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 25, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer.

John grew up in Connecticut and later in life moved to Massachusetts to be closer to his sister, Lynn. After living in Massachusetts for a few years John and his family moved to Morehead City, NC. John loved to be outdoors, from riding a tractor to doing landscaping, you could always find him outside. With a sarcastic sense of humor and an enormous amount of love for his family, John was an incredible soul. John was always there when you needed a hand or an ear to listen.

Services for John will be announced at a later date.

John is survived by his siblings, Carol Gloria of CT, Beverly Evans (Timothy) of CT, Daniel Volosin of CT, James Volosin(Kathy) of CT, Lawrence Volosin of CT, Thomas Volosin of CT, and Lynn Thatcher (William) of Morehead City. Lynn was not only his sister, but also his devoted caretaker who never left his side. John is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews who all loved their “Uncle Johnny”.

John is predeceased by his parents John A. Volosin and Theresa V. Volosin of CT. He is also predeceased by his loving brother Kenneth Volosin.

The family would also like to thank The Carteret Health Care Cancer Center and the Carteret Hospice Care for all there help with John during his battle with cancer.
