Raymond Joseph LaBerge Jr.

Raymond Joseph (Ray) LaBerge Jr., 72, Beaufort, passed away May 10, 2022, at Carteret Health Care in Morehead City.

Ray was born on June 18, 1949, in Portland, Maine. In 1968 Ray was sent to Vietnam to serve in the United States Marine Corps until 1970. He also worked as a juvenile correctional facility officer for thirty-four years. 

Ray enjoyed spending time fishing with his dear friend Frank. Ray would laugh at the fact that he caught ALL the fish!

Frank was so kind to Ray. It was a joy to watch them interact.

When Ray wasn't fishing with Frank, he was at his computer singing karaoke and recording himself. Ray loved Elvis and Engelbert Humperdinck.

A service will be held at 10 am on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at St. Egbert Catholic Church in Morehead City with Father Ryszard Kolodziej officiating.

Ray is survived by his wife, Jane Savage LaBerge; son, Michael P. LaBerge and wife, Jessica of Lisbon Falls, ME; granddaughter, Delila; brother, Robert LaBerge and wife, Cece of Scarborough, ME; sister, Linda Miller and husband, Don of Windham, ME.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Florence Pressy and Raymond Joseph LaBerge Sr. and sister, Mary Plummer.

The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses, staff and all that have helped Ray and I during the most challenging times of our lives.
