William Arthur Adams, 81, of Morehead City, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2021 at Vidant Health Care in Greenville.
William was an active member, and long time Deacon, of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. He retired after a 40 year career as a Lineman for Carteret-Craven Electric. He stayed involved in the community by being a Jaycee and was a member of the first ever Morehead City recreation advisory board. He loved area youth sports, officiated high school basketball, and was in charge of the West Carteret Patriot’s marching band pit crew. He enjoyed greeting people and sharing information on the area at the Crystal Coast Visitor’s Center.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, January 25, 2021 at Noe-Brooks Funeral Home with Pastor Shad Barrow officiating. Viewing will be the hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Morehead City. Due to Covid 19, masks and social distancing will be required. William is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Adams of the home; his children, Kevin Adams and his wife Fannie of Gilford County, Travis Adams and his wife Christie of Morehead City, Nickeya Adams of Morehead City; grandchildren, Delon, Antoine, Yvonne, Delania, and Genesis; great-grandchild, Mya Rose; brothers, Roy Adams and Conrad Adams; sister, Rosa Batts; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Rosa Adams; brothers, Freddie Adams ,Robert Adams, and James Adams Jr.; sisters, Teresa Adams and Elizabeth Grice.
